"Binaca Geetmala" was a weekly countdown show of Hindi film songs that aired on Radio Ceylon (later All India Radio) from 1952 to 1988. Ameen Sayani hosted the show with great flair and enthusiasm, making it immensely popular among Indian audiences. He also experimented in acting, appearing in several films in minor parts, frequently as an announcer.
