What needs to be done in the test?
- Vet the pdf for any issue
- Vet the PDF which needs alt-texts and which doesn't
- Prepare alt-text templates as per the shared format
- Start work on the pdfs which don't require alt-texts
- Share the alt-text template with SBS. We will provide the alt-texts
- Once we shared the alt-text, start working on making the pdfs ADA-complaint which require alt-texts
&. All the files must pass through JAWS (utmost mandatory requirement).
Basic Checklist (but not limited) for vetting PDFs:
- Check the count of PDFs in the shared folder matches with the tracker,
- Check whether all the PDFs name are mentioned in the tracker
- Check whether all the PDFs are openable.
- Check for any other issues.
- Inform the client that vetting is done and let them know if there is any issue.

- All equations will need alt-texts
- All formulas will need alt-texts
- All images will need alt-texts
- Don’t skip providing alt-texts to any images.
Basic Checklist (but not limited) for compliance to follow:
- All heading should be tagged perfectly.
- All tables should be tagged.
- Images must be tagged under 'Figure' with the shared alt-text.
- All equations must be tagged under 'Formula'
- All links/websites should be tagged under 'Link'.
- Don't tag the metadata
- On hovering the cursor over College Board Logo, alt-text must appear
- On hovering the cursor over any images, the alt-text must appear
- The property of the source MUST NOT be changed while compliance.
- The language span must be filled. You will receive a few pdfs which will have international language characters.
Guidelines
- Paragraph tag need to splitted at required places
- Heading tag can be first tagged as P tag and then It can be renamed. This is to avoid tagging path including the Heading and also to avoid Reading and tagging order change.
- Link tag should contain only the link address
- Table should be tagged if it has Row or column or both.
- In table empty cell should be TD not TH.
- While changing TH to TD please change the Header cell scope to None and change it as Data cell.
- While tagging list First content of LBody should be direct content and the next content should be tagged as per its respective tag (i.e., P or formula or figure or table etc.)
8.Check for empty X Object and remove the same and check for visual change as well after removing X Object. - Provide either alternate text or actual text at required occurrences.

• Check bullet mapping (Select label in bookmark option so that you can check the difference in bullet mapping).

• Link must have “https://” for web address and “mailto:” for email address
• Tag order Need to be checked (List hierarchy, Heading, link, paragraph splitting, formula & figure tag alt text )
• Reading order need to be checked
• Visual compare need to be checked
• Text quality need to be checked
• Bookmark need to be done
• Retain the Title, author, subject and keyword from the input do not change , if the input doesn’t have those details provide H1 as Title alone.

10 and above pages – Bookmarks Panel and Page , Single Page Continuous, Fit Page.
Below 10 pages – Pages Panel and Page , Single Page Continuous, Fit Page.
Single page – Page only, Single Page, Fit Page.
• Metadata need to removed.
